Stone Veneer Storefront, Good Hope

I believe this stone-sided building was once a store. The sign lets you know you’re in the right place.

First Christian Church, 1912, Jefferson

This is one of several structures in Jackson County featuring decorative siding built by E. Scott Ethridge, who owned the local concrete plant. His own residence on the adjacent lot features the siding, as well.

Historic Storefronts, Flovilla

Heard Street, running parallel to the railroad tracks, is Flovilla’s historic commercial center.

Much of the space is now occupied by the Victory Tabernacl. When I was photographing, mid-day on a Friday, the church was meeting and I could hear gospel music coming from inside, just as the sign promised.
