Rock Mills United Methodist Church, 1840, Jewell
This lovingly restored antebellum church was spared during Sherman’s March to the Sea thanks to the Masonic affiliation of Daniel Ashley Jewell. Moved from nearby Rock Mill Plantation in 1894, it’s an integral part of Jewell today. Jewell is one of numerous Georgia communities whose town limits fall within more than one county.

Roger Cason House, Circa 1868, Jewell
The house pictured here is located on the Warren County side of the Ogeechee River; part of the historic community of Jewell is located in Hancock County, as well.
As evidenced by the accomplished architectural styles present in the area, it was much more prosperous in its early history.
