This house has 11 bedrooms. I’d love to know more about its history.

A few years ago, this was an ordinary one story house on a backstreet in Greenville. Then when the last occupants died, I was told that it was purchased by a young man who worked for MSFT, who had done well and decided to completely renovate the dwelling. His parents lived on Forrest Rd just about a mile south of me, but he lived in another state. The project ran for months, maybe years, with multiple changes and re-dos in the process. I used to ride by every few weeks to see what the latest change would be. No one could figure why he would put so much money in this house in a bad location.
We still don’t know the answer.
