Located at the corner of Lula Road and Persimmon Tree Road just north of Lula, this oversized rocking chair is well-known landmark to travelers in the area. Dwight Oliver built it around 2006 for children visiting his Goldbrook Pumpkin Farm, but it has since become a permanent fixture. Stop by and take a picture when you’re in the area.
Great to see you in my old home county Brian. Hope you get to see some other quirky sites in the area…the rabbit statue just down the road from Lula in ”Rabbittown” community and the huge array of whirligigs (I assume they are still there) on the old road from Lula to Gainesville. Would love to have you send some photos of the old New Holland Methodist church in New Holland near Gainesville…it is a wonder in painted shingle architecture!
Ben, I will be getting shots of that church next trip. Sorry I missed it this time, but I’ll be back. Thanks for the lead.
