North Avenue Storefronts, Comer

I talked with a business owner here who remembered when Comer was a much busier place. He was also very concerned about a bypass that will soon carry traffic away from the dwindling downtown area.

He noted that with the coming of the bypass, few people besides locals would have any reason to come here and do business. I hope, however, that the well-preserved storefronts on North Avenue might serve as a catalyst to attract visitors.

Thanks for the Comer shots Brian. A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of driving through Comer on a regular basis going to and from a nearby project. Next time you are there drop by Maggie’s Café…she does the world’s best chicken salad sandwich!!

    • Thanks for the heads-up, Ben. It’s a great little town, but like so many in that section, soon to be absorbed by rapid urbanization. I hope it will take a little longer, though.
