Trinity School (African-American), Early 20th Century, Hancock County

This is located beside Trinity C. M. E. Church, between Jewell and Culverton. By its design, I’d guess that it was built by the state in the early 1900s. A similar schoolhouse, located beside Needwood Baptist Church in Glynn County, was built in 1907. Amazingly, this  was in use as an elementary school for African-Americans until 1959.
